Rihanna: Best-Selling Digital Artist of All Time

According to Nielsen Soundscan, the ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ singer song-writer Rihanna was named as the ‘Best-Selling Digital Artist of All Time!’

The 23-year-old pop superstar has notched about 47.5 million digital downloads from July 4, 2004 to January 1, 2012 off her 6 albums during the said period. The second-place is the Black Eyed Peas who have sold 42.4 million digital tracks, and the third was Eminem who sold 42.29 million.

Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift rounded up the top five. Other contenders were Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, Beyoncé, Kanye West and Britney Spears who finished in sixth through 10th place.

However, the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Got A Feeling” emerged as the top selling digital song with 7.6 million sales, and “Boom Boom Pow” is No. 4 with 6.2 million sales. Lady Gaga‘s “Poker Face” and “Just Dance” captured the no. 2 and no. 3 slots, respectively.

In an interview with the Look magazine, Rihanna shared her thoughts about the result, “There’s nobody really in my league, there’s competition everywhere. The whole music industry is competition.”
