Thirty-year-old, Filipina household service worker Sheryl Cabrera Javillano died after she tried to escape from her employer Salmiya in Kuwait.
As the case of Sheryl Cabrera Javillano investigated, authorities said, she fell down from the seventh floor of the apartment.
OFW Sheryl Cabrera Javillano, was a resident of Panabo City, Davao del Norte and is married having three children.
Meanwhile, according to Philippine Embassy the incident happened last November 1 2013, but her employer revealed Sheryl Cabrera Javillano’s death on November 27, because Salmiya her employer failed to report the tragic incident to the embassy.
The head of the Assistance to Nationals Unit of the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, Mar Hassan said, “Apparently, itong Filipina daw tumatakas siya nong time na nahulog. Gumawa siya ng tali na pinagtagpi-tagping mga kumot at bed sheet dahil sa kagustuhan niyang tumakas.”
Hasan also added that Sheryl Cabrera Javillano who came in Kuwait last January, was not legally deployed to work as a household service worker.
However, in this incident, Javillano family appealed on Facebook site to do a further investigation to the cause of Sheryl Cabrera Javillano’s death.
The same case as it was recalled on September 27, Pinay OFW Love Joy Balagat who also died after allegedly falling from the apartment building of her employer.
Consul General Raul Dado said on his statement, “this is very alarming and we’ve done our investigation on this. It’s the second such thing that happened over a short period of time. Suicide is never presumed in law. There should be a thorough investigation on this.”
